Learning by Doing

Learning by doing is an important capacity strengthening strategy within CHOICE. Learning by doing means that advocates gain valuable skills and knowledge by actually doing the activities they want to strengthen their capacity on. We see this as an important way to transfer expert knowledge within our organization, and to strengthen the capacity of young advocates, while also simultaneously building their confidence and self-esteem.

This acronym is often used to refer to people of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities, although it is now often replaced with the acronym SOGIE (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression) which is considered more inclusive, since the term LGBTI also leaves out a lot of different identities and expressions.
